Over the years I've always been entranced by bands (rock, punk, metal et. al.) with female lead singers. Here are some of my favorites over the years in no particular order;
Garbage
Veruca Salt
Brandi Carlile
The Runaways
Joan Jett
Annie Lennox
The Pretenders
bond
Luz Casal
Pink covering 4 Non Blondes
So what are some of your favorites?

Amigo, I know how it is...and Bond is new to me!!!! keep it up, we wanna know your music tastes! When I was in college I thought everybody wanted to become a potter and listen to the Grateful Dead all day. I had some surprises ahead of me....

Wow, the shoegazer movement. It's very cerebral and out there. I went to so many Hüsker Dü gigs in my mid 20's, and Soul Asylum ruled around here forever. I know one aural driver for me is a complex bass riff and driving drum rhythm. The lead guitar and vocals need to be there as well, but the former are the hook for me. Something like Fleetwood Mac, The Chain just crawls into my head and seduces my medulla oblongata. I just gotta dance!
